Celebrating National Engineering & Applied Science Technology (NEAT) Week
25, Nov, 2024
NEAT Week is hosted by Technology Professionals Canada (TPC) for the first time this year and will become an annual event raising awareness of the technical excellence and competencies of professional technicians and technologists within the engineering continuum. As one of nine TPC member organizations, we take this opportunity to thank you – our members – for the very important role each of you play in the dynamic and swiftly evolving focus on technological progression and innovation in various sectors across our province.
At the heart of NEAT Week is a National Capstone Project Competition. Offering a forum for students, either individually or in teams, to showcase all their learning and experience over the course of three years of study in an engineering or applied science technology program at a Canadian college or polytechnic institute. Judging criteria range from creativity and innovation though to community leadership and importance to society. On Tuesday 26 November at 11:00 a.m. MT (1:00 p.m. ET), the National Finals Competition Webinar will take place. We encourage you to register here and take part in voting on which of the two finalists will be the 2024 Winner and Runner Up. Note there is no fee to view and participate in this webinar.
On Thursday 28 November at 11:00 a.m. MT (1:00 p.m. ET), a second free Webinar will present The Role of AI in Shaping the Future of Technology: Insights, Tools, and Practical Tips. As artificial intelligence continues to transform industries, engineering technologists and technicians stand at the forefront of innovation. This webinar will explore how AI is revolutionizing engineering practices, from design and predictive maintenance to quality control and automation. Register here to learn more about how AI specifically impacts your profession.
