ASET partnership with Siddall Solutions brings you courses to improve your technical knowledge

07, Apr, 2025

Protection of the public is paramount. ASET wants to arm you with as much knowledge as possible through the CPD options we provide to uphold that vital function.

To support ASET’s commitment to regulation and safe technology practice, the association has partnered with Siddall solutions to offer members access to technical continuing professional development.

Through this partnership, Siddal Solutions will offer technical CPD courses that will help certified technology professionals follow best practices and be up to date on current technologies, codes and standards.

These online sessions cover engineering and technology with an emphasis on practical skills and techniques. In addition to meeting participants’ CPD requirements, the sessions will advance the careers of the participants.

The courses are facilitated by a veteran technology professional, and range in length, with the most common format being three hours. You can find which sessions are available to you by clicking here. As an ASET member, you’ll get a discount on select courses.

The course catalogue is being continually updated and modified with new topics, to help you stay fully up to date on developments and trends. Topics are varied, with an emphasis on practical skills for technology professionals in multiple fields. After you’ve completed one of the Siddall courses, you’ll receive a certificate of completion to signify what you’ve learned.

The sessions will range in size from 10 to 40, with the topics reflecting class size. Bigger classes will allow for a strong holistic understanding of a topic. Smaller classes, meanwhile, will help participates to specialize their knowledge base on what they’re learning, meaning there’s something for everyone.

The three sessions being offered to ASET members at a discounted price centre on understanding of electrical systems. The first of these is all about understanding electrical power systems. It will provide participants with an understanding of the equipment, systems and technology in their building’s electrical power system. With minimal jargon or math, it could be a good starting point for an electrical person new to the building world.

The second course is a continuation of what you’ll learn in the first, expanding on the various levels of electrical voltage distribution found in a building.

Finally, there’s “Essential Maintenance Strategies for Reliable Electrical Power Distribution Level I,” which will teach you about electrical power systems maintenance and service cycles, and equip you with the knowledge to implement these critical activities.
