Permit to Practice

Partnerships, corporations, and other legal entities must apply for a permit to practice engineering or geoscience in Alberta through either the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) or the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET). 

An organization cannot legally practice engineering or geoscience without a permit to practice and a professional engineer, professional licensee, or professional technologist listed as a responsible member under the permit.

Annual Permit to Practice Dues $495
Reinstatement Fee $150*

  1. Permit to Practice Application 
  2. Professional Practice Management Plan

Permit to Practice Online Seminar

Approved permit holders must view the online Permit to Practice Seminar in the first year of permit membership and every five years thereafter.
