Calgary invention partly devised by former Edson resident
If an aerial emergency rescue operational vehicle had been around during the 9/11 incident on Sept. 11, 2001, there probably would have been more survivors of the World Trade Centre attack. Former Edson resident Nghia Vu and his team at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) have developed a vehicle that could save lives in the event of a high-rise or skyscraper emergency. The AERO-V - aka Skywalker - is an emergency rescue vehicle that can reach a height of 900 metres and would be able to safely evacuate people in the tallest of buildings.
