Overview

ASET's Women in Technology (WiT) initiative focuses on empowering female technologists and technicians through a series of seminars featuring speakers discussing advancing women in the workplace. In addition, members have access to a variety of resource material to help progress the industry as a whole.


Upcoming Presentation

Empowering our community: A panel discussion with leaders in the technology profession

To celebrate the achievements and advancements of female technology professionals, we are hosting a panel discussion and Q&A with women who are making big strides within the technology industry. The panel will speak about their personal experiences, and answer questions from members.

Potential discussion topics are (but not limited to):

  • Standing out in male-driven industries
  • Positive aspects of the technology industry
  • Being taken seriously in the technology profession

About the Panelists

Angela Thompson
Vice President, Project Services & Director, Environmental Services
ClearStream Energy Services Inc.

Angela Thompson brings over 15 years of operational, regulatory, environmental and stakeholder relations professional consulting experience. She joined the ClearStream team in 2017. In her role, she’s accountable for project delivery and administration for all ClearStream companies and business activities. In addition, she has operational P&L oversight for the ClearStream environmental services consulting division.

Angela holds a bachelor of management degree from the University of Lethbridge. In 2020, she was recognized by Women’s Executive Network as one of Canada’s most powerful women. An active participant in her community, she currently sits on the board of directors at KidSport.
 

Emilee Kaupp, C.E.T.
Engineering Technologist
Associated Engineering

Emilee Kaupp is a certified engineering technologist (C.E.T.) who received her diploma from Lethbridge College in 2014. She’s worked for Associated Engineering for the past six years. During this time, Emilee has taken on different responsibilities for several civil and municipal projects.

As a C.E.T. working out of Lethbridge, Emilee aims to better represent the interests and inputs of Southern Alberta, ensuring that ASET meets the needs of and better reflects all of its membership. She also believes her position as a young female on the Council will strengthen ASET with a unique perspective. Emilee’s ultimate goal is to show both the public and technologists not yet registered as C.E.T.s exactly why certification is such an invaluable part of Alberta’s technology industry.
 

Kayla Mukli, C.E.T.
Environmental Technologist
Matrix Solutions

Kayla Mukli is a graduate from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) with a diploma in geological technology. Since 2017, Kayla has embraced her passion for her career in the environmental consulting industry, as an environmental technologist with Matrix Solutions. At Matrix she focuses on various field projects, reporting and project management. In her free time, Kayla enjoys anything outdoors, such as archery, camping and gold panning.
